## Background
GNS emission is split across four targets by the emission realm. The liquidity staker share flows to staked LP positions through pool tiers. The DevOps and Community Pool shares go to their designated addresses. The Gov Staker share goes to xGNS delegators. The ratio has not changed since launch, so xGNS delegators have received no share of emission.
## Motivation
- **Give xGNS a direct emission yield.** Today xGNS delegators earn only protocol fees. Directing 20% of emission to the Gov Staker gives every xGNS holder a steady GNS yield on top of fees, which makes staking GNS competitive with providing liquidity.
- **Turn holders into long-term stakeholders.** xGNS requires locking GNS and carries an unstaking period. Rewarding that commitment shifts emission from short-term yield toward holders who stay with the protocol.
- **Strengthen governance.** Delegated xGNS is voting power. More GNS staked as xGNS means higher participation, broader delegation, and proposals decided by a larger share of the supply.
- **Reduce sell pressure.** Emission paid to xGNS delegators goes to users who already chose to lock GNS, not to positions that sell rewards right away.
